South Tyrol - Valle Isarco

It should suffice to travel the roadways across our region to understand what we mean by a cultural landscape: it is the terrain, which is worked with special care; the perfectly aligned fruit trees, the vineyards that give the hillsides an unmistakeable aspect, the carefully mown fields, the grazing cattle, the clean farms and the flowers on the balconies, new and ancient barns, built in the peculiar characteristic style; it is the distinguishing aura of tranquillity and gladness emanated by the South Tyrol rural countryside.

Few places in the world have cultivated up to the last square metre of land area available as we have in South Tyrol, which is testimony to the centuries of experience of our people in their close relationship with nature.
